    Start: The Hope Inn, West Pier, Newhaven BN9 9DN.

    Join us for a stroll around Newhaven’s West Pier. We will share stories of war, weather and accidents centred around a port with aspirations to be the ‘Liverpool of the South’.

    Start: Seaford Club House, Marine Parade, BN25 2QR.

    An exploration of sea tales, Tide Mills, sea plane stations and oyster ponds: from Seaford Sailing club to Newhaven Marine Workshops (Mamoosh).

    A linear walk. Meet at the Seaford Club House on Marine Parade and follow the coastal walk around Seaford Bay, past Tide Mills and the Seaplane Station, before moving slightly inland along the England Coastal Path into Newhaven, finishing up by the river at Marine Workshops and the Mamoosh Café.

    Start: outside Marine Workshops, Railway Approach, Newhaven BN9 0ER.

    Join us for a creative stroll around Newhaven’s Eastside to investigate its ‘spirit of place’. We’ll share our knowledge of some of the hidden histories, point out some unusual observations and wander slightly off the beaten track and around the edges…

    No artistic experience necessary!

    Just bring a camera (a phone will do), a note or sketchbook (or even a microphone). We’ll pay close attention to the sights, sounds and overall atmosphere of Newhaven’s Eastside and document our experience.

    Start: outside Mamoosh, Riverside, Marine Workshops, Newhaven.

    Dr Cathy Pearce (Senior Lecturer in Naval, Maritime and Coastal History at the University of Portsmouth) will lead this free walk. 

    The trail is an accessible route. Location/route tbc.

    Chris will lead this free walk.

    A chance to explore the rich retail past of Newhaven’s High street and its surroundings, with tales of dodgy deals and disappearing Lords. We also venture beyond the High Street to visit the Hillcrest Centre and the Workhouse and consider the vital role these institutions played in Newhaven’s rich history.

    Start: Memorial Green (end of Bridge Street).

    Please note: there will be some hill walking involved on this walk.
